About
- Calle San Miguel: the big pedestrian shopping street; it runs down to Bajondillo beach via the Cuesta del Tajo
- Torre de los Molinos (Torre Pimentel): Nasrid tower from around 1300, made of rammed earth, about 12 m high; Bien de Interés Cultural (protected heritage site). It gives the town its name: a neighbourhood of mills grew around it
- Called Pimentel after Rodrigo de Pimentel, who helped the Catholic Monarchs take Málaga in 1487
- Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel, from 1718 (remodelled in 1896)
- Cuesta del Tajo: steep, with craft and souvenir shops
Good to know
- Do it downhill: San Miguel, the Torre and the Cuesta del Tajo, and you end up at El Bajondillo
- To get back up, the municipal lift from Plaza de los Tajillos to Plaza del Panorama costs €0.50 and runs all year
- Halfway down the slope is Bodegas Quitapenas (since 1962), for a tapa with sweet wine
- Next to the Torre there is a visitor centre on the history of tourism in Torremolinos
