AddressDesde Málaga, carretera A-7000 hacia Colmenar; a unos 21 km, carril a la izquierda y 2 km más hasta el ecomuseo. Aparcamiento para unos 50 coches (compartido con el área recreativa de Torrijos). No hay transporte público: hace falta coche
About
- Old lagar (wine press house) from 1843, preserved almost as it was: 900 m² on two floors
- Huge beam press with a tree trunk and a one-tonne stone, clay jars, olive mill and bread oven
- Torrijos trail: 0.7 km each way (out and back on the same path), about 30 min, going down to the Chaperas stream through pine forest and riverside woodland and ending at a wooden walkway
- Montes de Málaga Natural Park: almost 5,000 ha of pine forest 20 min from the city
Good to know
- Before heading up, call the ecomuseum to confirm it's open that day: we couldn't verify the current opening hours
- The A-7000 has lots of bends: take it easy
- Bring a warm layer: it's quite a bit cooler up there than on the coast
- Add the El Cerrado trail (4 km loop, from Fuente de la Reina) if you want to walk further
