Must try

Sardine espetos ('the star dish'), clams, Galician-style octopus, squid, boquerones, grilled gilthead bream and sea bass, roast pepper salad and seafood paella. In September 2025 a couple paid about €63 for espetos, paella, boquerones and three drinks.

About

A chiringuito (beach bar) on the sand, a walk from the centre: the easiest way to eat an espeto (sardines grilled on a skewer) without leaving the city.

Good to know

Large fish is charged by weight: ask the price first (complaint from September 2026). They do not serve free tap water (August 2025). Order espetos from spring to autumn: from November to February the sardines are leaner.

Getting there and parking

On foot from the centre: cross the Paseo del Parque and carry on through La Malagueta to the seafront promenade.
