About

• Circular route of about 7.85–8 km and 525 m of ascent along the Senda de José Lima
• Fuente del Pozuelo (may be dry in summer) and Puerto del Pozuelo
• Optional climb to the Picacho de Castillejos (Los Cuchillos, about 1,232 m), with views of the Sierra de las Nieves
• Return through a pinsapo forest, along the north face of La Concha; Spanish ibex and vultures

Good to know

• The path to the summit is poorly marked: follow the stone cairns; thorny scrub and a few steps where you need your hands
• Don't do it in reverse: the start in that direction is very steep
• Wear long trousers for the scrub
