- Beach town in Vélez-Málaga with one of the longest seafront promenades in the province, flat and made for walking or cycling
- Wide urban beach of dark sand, with chiringuitos (beach bars) serving espetos (sardines grilled on skewers) and pescaíto frito (fried fish) right on the front
- Lighthouse, the Caleta de Vélez marina next door and a more local feel than Nerja
Good to know
- Parking is easy outside July-August; in summer look on the streets parallel to the promenade
- There's a very large weekly market: ask which day at the tourist office
- For lunch: El Radar (coeliac-friendly) and El Boquerón (espetos), both on the promenade
