Must try

Sweet local wines: Pajarete, Pedro Ximénez and moscatel, and vermouth on tap. To nibble, mussels (the most recommended), prawns, king prawns, pickles, cheese and cured meats.

About

A 19th-century tavern, unrenovated, with the barrels behind the bar. You come here to drink Málaga wine straight from the barrel, standing up, just as it has always been done.

Good to know

Seafood is ordered and paid for at the counter at the back (April 2026). There are no seats and they do not serve cocktails or draught beer (July 2026). At peak times it is hard to get served, and some foreigners have complained about the service (2025-2026).

Getting there and parking

Metro: Atarazanas station, right on the Alameda Principal.
