- Its marble horseshoe-arch door is all that remains of the Nasrid seven-arch atarazanas (shipyards)
- Large stained-glass window at the back
- Fish, seafood, tropical fruit from the Axarquía, olives and cured meats
Good to know
- Go on a weekday morning or early on Saturday: by midday it's packed and at 14:00 it closes
- The best part is the fish area; the fruit stalls make fresh juices
- If you just want to see the building and the stained-glass window in peace, drop by in the early afternoon, when the market is already closed
- The bars around Atarazanas (inside and on the surrounding streets) are among the cheapest in the centre for midday tapas
