Rice dishes are their thing: more than ten (soupy, with lobster, black, vegetable), according to Turismo de Andalucía. April 2026 reviews highlight the paella, prawns pil-pil, fried fish, fresh squid, rosada and grilled salmon. There are complaints about the black rice, the conchas finas (clams), the chanquetes and the octopus (it was served with the head on).
The La Carihuela classic: several dining rooms and a huge terrace on the square (about 600 seats, according to GastroRanking). Turismo de Andalucía describes it as one of the most typical restaurants in Torremolinos.
Book: it is huge and still fills up. When it is full, service is slow and some find it overwhelmed (April 2026). To play safe, order the fried fish, paella and pil pil.
It is on the square, in the heart of La Carihuela, a step from the seafront promenade. Parking in La Carihuela in summer is tricky: the most practical way is to come by Cercanías C-1 (commuter train; Montemar-Alto station, about a 15-minute walk downhill) or leave the car in the Montemar area.
