- La Torrecilla (1,917 m according to the official listing) is the highest point of the Sierra de las Nieves and of western Andalusia
- Climb via the Cañada del Cuerno, among centuries-old pinsapos (the Andalusian fir)
- Puerto de los Pilones, with views of the coast; a restored snow well and the Pilar de Tolox spring
- Mountain gall oaks at about 1,700 m and the Sima GESM, well known among cavers
- From the top, a panorama over almost the whole province
Good to know
- Ask for authorisation by phone from the Park Office before you go
- It's tough: 634 m of climbing and stony ground; hiking boots
- In winter there may be snow up top; in summer start very early
- The only fountain on the way is the Pilar de Tolox: bring water from home
