About
- Plaza de los Naranjos, laid out after the Christian conquest of 1485: orange trees, a stone fountain from 1504 and terraces; it is the heart of the old town
- Town Hall (1568), with a sundial and coats of arms; inside, the Sala Capitular with a Mudéjar coffered ceiling and mural paintings from 1572
- Casa del Corregidor (1552): stone façade with coats of arms and a three-arch balcony
- Ermita de Santiago (15th century), considered Marbella's first Christian temple
- Narrow white streets with flowerpots: Calle Ancha, Plaza del Altamirano, Capilla de San Juan de Dios, Hospital Real de la Misericordia and the square and chapel of the Santo Cristo de la Vera Cruz (15th century)
Good to know
- Park in the underground car park on Avenida del Mar: it is the most central for the old town, the Alameda and the beach
- Low Emission Zone: Marbella's old town (and San Pedro's) has been a ZBE since 2023. For now, in the transition phase, it only issues warnings, but if your car has no DGT emissions sticker, leave it in a car park on the edge
- The old town is for exploring on foot: get lost in the streets around the square
- Link it with the Museo del Grabado (C/ Hospital Bazán), the walls and Avenida del Mar, all a few minutes away
- Every 11 June, the anniversary of the conquest, the banner of the Catholic Monarchs is shown in public
