About
- White village at 812 m, at the foot of the Sierra del Pinar, in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park
- Plaza de España, with the Iglesia de la Aurora (18th century), the parish church of the Encarnación and the Town Hall
- Iglesia de San José (17th century, former Carmelite convent), with a viewpoint over the village next to it
- El Peñón Grande, the mass of rock that towers over the village
- Artesanía Textil de Grazalema, on the road to Ronda: looms at work and sale of the famous Grazalema blankets, woven here since the 17th century
- It is the rainiest place in Andalusia (average of about 1,960 mm a year)
Good to know
- Eat: payoyo cheese, lamb caldereta (stew) and, for dessert, cubilete (a local sponge cake)
- Sabores de Grazalema, next to the bull statue in the square: cured meats, honeys and preserves from the area
- Festival in mid-July (Virgen del Carmen), with a toro de cuerda (bull on a rope) through the streets
- In summer, a municipal pool with views at the exit towards El Bosque
- A base for the Pinsapar, the Torreón and the Garganta Verde (with a permit)
- Check the weather: it rains a lot more here than in Ronda
