The oxtail with chestnut sauce (about €15, according to Mochileando por el mundo), fried boquerones, gazpacho, king prawns pil-pil, pork cheek, montaditos, lamb skewers and, for dessert, torrija with wine ice cream or chestnut flan.
Tavern with a terrace on Plaza del Socorro, the main square of the Mercadillo. Very busy at lunchtime.
Open at lunchtime only: do not leave it for dinner. There is a queue, so go early. One customer complains of paying €7.50 for a plate of tomato and €17 for the oxtail.
There is a car park on Plaza del Socorro (no. 11), but on Parclick it showed as temporarily closed in October 2026; if it is not open, park at the Martínez Astein car park (24 h, €1.70/h) and walk.
