Sardine espeto and large wild fish cooked on a skewer (turbot, pieces of over a kilo), coquinas, king prawns, sea bass, seafood paella and black rice. The least praised: the octopus and the desserts.
Historic chiringuito (beach bar): it began in 1952 on Playa del Faro and has been at La Fontanilla since 1959. It grills espetos (sardines on skewers) over olive wood and in high season gets through about 60 kg of sardines a day (Directo al Paladar). It has sun loungers on the beach.
Booking is almost essential in summer, and even so you may have to wait (March 2026). If you want a sun lounger, arrive early. It gets noisy with big groups. It is not cheap and some portions are small. Along the promenade there are sellers of fake goods: a simple 'no, thanks' is enough.
Park in the underground car park on Avenida del Mar (under the sculptures) and carry on walking along the seafront promenade.
