Must try

A long tasting menu or a short à la carte with a minimum number of dishes; Guía Repsol mentions menus at €100 and €130. The Michelin Guide highlights the eel maimones de all i pebre and the corvina cooked over embers with parsley sauce and Moroccan lemon; Repsol, the gazpachuelo, the embers-roasted peppers and the pringá de puchero (slow-cooked stew meats). In 2026 reviews: veal sweetbreads with miso mousse and the squid.

About

Kaleja is a Sephardic word meaning 'little street': it is in the old Jewish quarter, a few metres from the Museo Picasso. Dani Carnero cooks the Andalusian flavours of his childhood over embers and on a slow heat ('cocina de candela').

Good to know

Book in advance: there are only two seatings (13:30-14:30 and 20:00-21:00), Tuesday to Saturday. Ask for a seat at the bar facing the kitchen if there is one (March 2026): it is the best way to see the 'cocina de candela' (cooking over embers). Do not rush: the long menu can last three or four hours. Not a plan for small children.

Getting there and parking

Pedestrian centre: park at the Alcazaba car park (Calle Alcazabilla) and continue on foot towards the Picasso Museum, or take the metro to Atarazanas.
